Skyros island,  Sporades,  Greece
 
 


Skyros is the largest island of the North Sporades and has an area of 215 square kms. It's population numbers about 3,500 and their main occupations are agriculture, sheep and goat breeding. Traditional wood carving, pottery and commerce are also mainstays of the economy. Skyros is also well known for many local products such as feta cheese, wild honey and fava. Tourism is not widespread and with its charm and charcter, Skyros provides a genuine Greek experience.
