The emerald scenic island of Thasos lies on the North Aegean Sea opposite the shores of East Macedonia, the estuary of Nestos River and Kavala town. The island makes up one of the four provinces of Kavala Prefecture of East Macedonia. Thasos' coastline is 115 km long, whereas a narrow channel 8 nautical miles wide separates it from the opposite East Macedonian shore.

Thasos is surrounded by the turquoise waters of the North Aegean with the olive and pine trees reaching to the waterfront, a place of unique experiences to visitors. The villages retain their picturesque and scenic local atmosphere, and at the same time the island has developed to provide all sorts of modern tourist services and meet the needs of even the most demanding visitor.
